Welcome to MacroMind Director 2.0. We hope you enjoy using MacroMind Director for your multimedia productions.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN...
• Please return your registration card right away so we can provide you with technical support. Once registered, you will also receive our newsletters, which contain great information about using MacroMind Director in conjunction with complementary audio and video products.
• Before you use MacroMind Director 2.0, you should read the Getting Started booklet. To install MacroMind Director 2.0 on your hard drive, see the Installation section in the Getting Started booklet.
• Special note for MacroMind Director Interactive .93 users: You will need to open and resave your .93 files from within MacroMind 2.0 in order to double-click and launch them from the Finder. Until you resave these documents, they may appear with a generic document icon in the Finder as well.
• Note the ScreenClip and Scrapbook FKeys have been updated to work in 32-bit environments.
CHANGES AND NOTES NOT INCLUDED IN THE GETTING STARTED MANUAL
• The Digidesign AudioMedia card is supported in MacroMind Director 2.0. This card enables you to play high quality sound files from disk using very little RAM. The XObject and example movie are included on the Interactive Color Examples-2 disk.
• Overview will switch monitor resolution between 8-bit and 32-bit color movies but not between 8-bit movies and 32-bit PICT's. You may wish to put 32-bit PICT's into a movie or create an empty 32-bit movie preceding the PICT to cause the monitor switch resolution.
• An editableText field highlights inconsistently when placed on top of a castmember.
• 8-bit movies may look different when played on a monitor set to 32-bits. While all castmembers will be displayed with their appropriate palettes, some ink effects may produce unexpected results.
• After you play a movie with Loop off (in the Panel), you must choose Play twice to play it again.
We'd love to hear about your successes with MacroMind Director 2.0. Enjoy!
